Distant Journey Revisited

Driving to the airport in Patagonia, Chile, the sun came up behind the famous five mountains.  I interpreted that scene as an abstract, using smooth brushstrokes and textured palette knife strokes for variety. 

"Distant Journey Revisited" depicts a later time of day, where shadows and contrasts are different.  Sections of this painting are brighter and bolder. I love the push/pull feeling of "Distant Journey Revisited."
